Chef De Partie

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Chef de Partie to join its team at the Bagshot Gardens Care Home in Surrey.

Main duties of the job

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm and enthusiastic individual to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for residents. The role involves preparing nutritional food, managing stock control, and menu development. A catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate are required. Minimum of one year of catering experience is also required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, high quality service.
• Take part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and special dietary requirements.
• Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, following the Head Chef's directions.
• Assist cost effective stock control systems to minimise waste.
• Help develop and review the menu on a regular basis.

About you

• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have a minimum of one year catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

• Valid DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
