Job Description
We are seeking a skilled, organized, and personable chef to support the continued growth of our business. You will be joining a team of five chefs to help run a busy gastropub and its successful takeaway service. In this role, you'll be responsible for assisting with food preparation, including tasks like chopping vegetables, but will primarily focus on cooking specialty dishes and supporting the Head Chef.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook dishes according to customer preferences, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation.
Adhere to food safety guidelines and ensure the kitchen staff follows proper procedures.
Work safely in a fast-paced environment with knives and hot surfaces.
Select the finest ingredients to enhance dish quality and flavor.
Manage food inventory and help maintain adequate stock levels.
Stay updated on food trends and industry practices to contribute to a top-notch dining experience for guests.
Handle busy periods with efficiency and accuracy, especially during evenings and weekends.
Step in to assist with additional duties like cleaning when necessary, especially during peak times or staff shortages.
Follow direction and collaborate with the restaurant's management and administration teams.
