Chef

Overview

As an Education Chef with Berkeley Scott, you will join Impact Food Group across schools in Guildford and the wider Surrey area for the new term starting September. This temporary chef role offers competitive rates, weekly pay, and term time working with weekends free. You will prepare nutritious meals for pupils, manage kitchen stock, and ensure high food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff.
• Plan menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage stock, order supplies and minimise waste.
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants during service.
• Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a senior chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce licence, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills.
• Passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens training; additional compliance training provided free of charge.
