Berkeley Scott is recruiting chefs for the new school year starting September, working with Impact Food Group across schools in York. This temporary Chef role offers weekday, term time work with competitive pay, weekly wages, and weekends off. The role is ideal for chefs with strong culinary skills, a valid food hygiene certificate, and experience in high volume cooking.

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
• Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen cleanliness
• Managing stock, ordering supplies and minimising waste
• Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service
• Adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations

• Minimum 6 months experience as a senior chef, preferably in a school or similar environment
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willingness to obtain
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills
• Passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, with additional compliance training provided free of charge
