Manpower Recruitment are working with an established Restaurant in the Woodstock, Oxfordshire and are looking for a new Chef, to join a busy kitchen environment.
This role is a full-time role, working 5/7 days, including weekends and evenings, so flexibility is needed.
My client is open to reviewing all levels of chefs from a Commis chef to a Chef De Partie.
The role is paying £30000 to £36000pa, depending on experience. (Plus Tips)
Job OverviewThe Chef is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry), ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety within your section.
- Monitor portion control and minimise food waste to support cost management.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Support stock control, including ordering, rotation, and inventory checks.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods, maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
- Step up to support other sections or senior chefs when required.
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up.
- Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to manage a section independently during service.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Passion for food, quality, and continuous improvement.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
