Role Overview

Berkeley Scott is recruiting a Chef for temporary roles across schools in Lancaster, working with Impact Food Group from September. This position offers weekday, term time shifts with competitive pay and weekly wages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff.
• Plan menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage stock, order supplies, and minimise waste.
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants during service.
• Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a senior Chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong, reliable and excellent communication skills.
• Passion for providing healthy meals to children and young people.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens training; additional compliance training will be provided free of charge.
