With five buzzing locations across West Quay, Lyndhurst, Woolston, Guildhall, and Portswood, we've built our reputation on serving up fresh, honest food and exceptional home-roasted coffee, all in beautifully designed spaces full of character and community.
We're currently on the lookout for an experienced Chef to join our amazing team at Mettricks Lyndhurst .

ROLE OVERVIEW:
_Brief summary of the role_
The Chef is responsible for the preparation, presentation, and quality of all food items in the kitchen. This role requires a passion for culinary excellence, a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The Chef will contribute to menu development, inventory management, and the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.
CHEF KEY ATTRIBUTES

A passion for cooking and a commitment to high-quality food preparation.
Creativity and innovation in developing new recipes and menu items.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Teamwork and the ability to train and mentor junior staff.
CHEF RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
_As part of this role, we expect you to:_
Maintain Food Quality:
Ensure food items are prepared and presented consistently to meet established standards.
Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to maintain quality.
Uphold standards of taste, appearance, and freshness.
Ensure Kitchen Cleanliness:
Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and sanitised according to food safety regulations.
Follow standard cleaning procedures for equipment and work surfaces.
Report any maintenance or sanitation issues promptly.
Assist with Inventory Management:
Support inventory control efforts by monitoring stock levels and usage.
Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
Help minimise food waste through proper storage and rotation practices.
Collaborate on Menu Offerings:
Assist Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager in menu planning and development.
Provide input on menu items based on knowledge of ingredients and preparation methods.
Ensure menu items align with available resources and customer preferences.
Support Junior Kitchen Staff:
Provide guidance and assistance to junior kitchen team members as needed.
Help train new staff on kitchen procedures and standards.
Foster a positive and supportive work environment for all team members.
