Chef - Bank

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will help deliver hotel/restaurant standards without split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus while tailoring them to residents' needs.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified chef working with fresh seasonal food, you will enjoy a better work life balance and meaningful work. You will assist the Head Chef in menu development, lead and inspire a kitchen team, manage stock control, work within budget, and help maintain a warm and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Work fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes cooked at the highest standards.
• Help create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience helping to lead and inspire a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
• Good understanding of HACCP.
