Carbery Physiotherapy Clinic is an established, community-trusted musculoskeletal practice based in Ballineen, the heart of West Cork. We are built on an evidence-informed, rehab-led treatment philosophy. We have a purpose built rehab gym, use shockwave therapy and gait analysis equipment. We use cliniko and multiple exercise equipment software and have excellent admin support team. Our clinicians work closely with patients to identify and resolve the underlying drivers of injury and dysfunction - not just manage symptoms.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled MSK Physiotherapist who is confident in managing a diverse independent caseload of musculoskeletal, sporting, occupational injuries with some neuro and sports based paeds Mentorship onsite from clinician with 30 plus years' experience at national and international level and guest lecturing experience in numerous Physiotherapy and GP Courses. This is a role for a clinician who leads with rehabilitation - using progressive loading, therapeutic exercise, and patient education as primary treatment tools and supplements with skilled manual therapy to facilitate movement and recovery.

Clinical Environment & Caseload
  • Caseload: Predominantly MSK, GAA and sporting injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, occupational/repetitive strain injuries,
  • Approach: Rehab-led, evidence-informed practice. Manual therapy to create a window of opportunity for active rehabilitation
  • Facilities: Well-equipped clinical treatment space with dedicated rehabilitation, gait analysis and exercise equipment to support progressive loading and active recovery. Shockwave to treat tendon and MSK injuries.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive MSK assessments using advanced clinical reasoning to inform differential diagnosis and treatment.
  • Design and deliver progressive, individualized rehabilitation programmes tailored to patient goals.
  • Apply skilled manual therapy techniques to facilitate recovery and support active rehab goals.
  • Manage patient expectations through clear, empathetic communication - simplifying complex pathology and building genuine rapport from the first session.
  • Maintain high patient retention and treatment plan completion rates through excellent clinical care and relationship management.
  • Use cliniko for thorough clinical notes and communicate professionally with local GPs, consultants, and other healthcare providers.
Essential Requirements
  • Current, active CORU registration as a Physiotherapist (not pending, not in progress - must be confirmed at time of application).
  • Current ISCP membership.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance (in place or obtainable prior to start date).
  • Post-qualification clinical experience in a private practice or sports clinic MSK setting an advantage.
  • Demonstrable expertise in exercise prescription, progressive loading, and rehabilitation programme design.
  • Proven ability to manage an independent caseload without day-to-day clinical supervision.
  • Current, unrestricted right to work in the Republic of Ireland (visa sponsorship is not offered).
Desirable Criteria
  • Dry needling qualification or experience of shockwave, but training facilitated.
  • Formal Strength & Conditioning qualification or Pilates instructor certification.
  • Experience working with local sporting populations (GAA, rugby, athletics, etc.).
  • Familiarity with practice management software and digital clinical note-taking.
