Role Overview

This is a demand-led, part-time role providing accounting support, with increased input during quarterly reporting, year-end and audit periods. Day to day, the role will involve:

• Reviewing and revising the draft 2025/26 annual accounts, incorporating agreed audit adjustments, and completing year-end closure within SAGE.
• Making agreed corrections to accounting records within SAGE, including invoices, credit notes and bank charges.
• Supporting quarterly financial reporting, including accruals and reversals.
• Developing management, cashflow and budget monitoring reports within SAGE.
• Supporting preparation of the 2026/27 budget and future year forecasting.
• Preparing, examining and certifying the annual accounts in line with the Financial Reporting Manual (FReM), and supporting the external audit process.
• Advising on improvements to financial processes and automation within SAGE.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

• Chartered accountant with up-to-date professional registration.
• Working knowledge of SAGE.
• Experience preparing public sector accounts in accordance with FReM.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
