Job Description

Originally set up during the pandemic,GIVE is an award-winning Surrey-based charity improving mental health and wellbeing through community support. As we continue to grow our activities and impact, we are now seeking aTrustee / Treasurer to join our committed Board of Trustees.

About GIVE

GIVE is a volunteer-led charity supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. We focus on early intervention and provide safe, inclusive community activities such as organised walks, creative projects and befriending support.

Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic as a local volunteer support group, our work helping hundreds of residents earned multiple community awards. We have since grown into a registered charity serving the wider community.

The Role

We are seeking a Trustee who will also act as Treasurer, playing a key role in overseeing the financial health and governance of the charity. As a small and growing organisation, this is a hands on role with real opportunity to shape our future and make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Treasurer and oversee the financial management of the charity
  • Preparation of financial reports for monthly trustee meetings
  • Contribute to planning and decision-making as a trustee
  • Work with fellow trustees to ensure strong governance and compliance
Skills & Experience

Treasurer or trustee experience is desirable. Although preferable, you do not need to be a qualified accountant, but you should be comfortable working with financial information and able to explain it clearly to others.

Time Commitment

Trustee meetings are held monthly, with an additional couple of hours per month for Trustee / Treasurer responsibilities. As a small charity, trustees are more hands on than in larger organisations, and may occasionally support tasks such as funding applications or policy development.
