ITIL Change & Release Manager

Hatfield, Milton Keynes or Nottingham (2-3 days in the office)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Change & Release Service to specific customers. Ensuring efficient and prompt handling of all Changes & Releases in a client's infrastructure and to minimize the Risk and Impact to their estate by using standardized methods and procedures.

What you'll do

  • Define the scope and contents of each release with the relevant customer business, ensuring that agreement and commitment is provided by internal support teams to effectively support its delivery.
  • Gather information and track status of all change requests and release implementations
  • Ensure all Requests for Changes are registered.
  • Ensure all logged Request for Changes, are promptly and correctly approved by authorized approvers.
  • Ensure all Change Requests & Releases are kept up to date on the Tool Management System with progress that occurs, including any actions to correct problems and/or to take opportunities to improve service quality.
  • Ensure the change and release policy and processes are adhered to in the release of all changes into all environments.
  • Understand and analyse any impacts of, including scheduling risks, all projects that will introduce change to the production environments
  • Mediate all conflicts regarding scheduling, lack of approval or lack of documentation prior to implementation of the change
  • Coordinate with Incident Management, Problem Management and Configuration Management to ensure correct and consistent data is provided to the Change and Release Management processes
  • Ensure process, procedure and work instruction documentation for Change and Release Management activities are correct and up-to-date
  • Distribute the change and release schedules and pipelines within agreed timeframes
  • Communicate technical change and release activities and impact to the business; providing performance data reporting, issues and review follow-up; and performing other duties as required such as ITIL process implementation support
  • Produce and distribute weekly change and release meeting minutes
  • Provide regular, robust and accurate reporting on change requests and release including exception reporting on high impact, aborted and unauthorised changes.

What you'll need

  • At least 3 years of professional experience from several years of experience in the IT environment or a completed technical degree
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships with all levels of service management, the customer and Computacenter's internal service providers
  • Skills in the areas of IT Infrastructure Services and IT Service Management (ITIL)
  • Basic experience in the analysis, design and optimization of process flows
  • Ability to present performance measurably
  • Basic knowledge of common service management tools
  • ITIL V4 Foundation certification or experience as a process manager
  • The ability to work independently
