About Thrive and Kinver High School

Kinver High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Thrive Alternative Provision Centre Manager to join our 'warm and welcoming school' where 'pupils behave well in lessons' and 'are polite and courteous' (Ofsted Dec 21).

The ideal candidate will share our student-centered values and be an engaging and proactive person with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.

Thrive is a specialist resource provision base that is part of Kinver High School and Sixth Form Centre, based in Kinver in South Staffordshire. We welcome students from all over the West Midlands. Currently we offer a bespoke provision for 30 students, across all key stages. Our centre opened in November 2024 and has the support of the Local Authority and is one of the designated 'alternative' learning centres for children within the South Staffordshire region who require a more tailored and personalised approach to curriculum learning than that which is offered in mainstream schools.

Our vision at Thrive is that every child can be successful. We recognise that intelligence comes in many forms and our overriding purpose is to ensure that no child is 'lost' or forgotten within the education system.

We seek to offer something different, an alternative to the norm and a more bespoke, but equally challenging experience. We believe that with the right curriculum, with the right support and with highly skilled staff, all students can 'Engage, Succeed, Aspire to Lead' and ultimately 'Thrive'!

If you think as we do, then we would love to hear from you. We are sure that once you visit us and meet our students, you'll find that we are the school for you and your career journey, our CPD through school and in partnership with Invictus is exemplary.

We would strongly encourage you to get in touch and arrange a visit. We want the very best teachers for our students and look forward finding out if you are that person.

Please contact Tyler Brooks: to arrange a visit or request further details.

Safeguarding and recruitment

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, and as part of our recruitment process, the Trust will carry out an online search on all shortlisted candidates. This is to help identify any incidents or concerns that are publicly available which may pose a safeguarding risk or bring the Trust into disrepute. Any such findings will be shared with the recruitment manager and may be discussed at interview.

We are deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All required pre-employment checks will be undertaken, and offers of employment are subject to satisfactory outcomes. These include an enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List information, identity checks, online checks, and verification of professional qualifications and references. Further details are available in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025.
