CDM Principal Designer

Project: Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU)

Location: York, Leeds, or Manchester (Note: Regular travel to the York office is required for client meetings)

Rate: £55 - £60 per hour (Outside IR35)

Contract: Maternity Cover

Working Policy: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Designer and CDM Specialist to join the System Safety team on a contract basis for a maternity cover. You will support the delivery of Principal Designer duties for the major Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project.

Main Duties

• Ensure compliance with Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015 during the pre-construction phase.
• Oversee and support the design team to ensure positive health and safety outcomes.
• Act as a key duty holder, regularly attending and reporting to the client on project developments related to CDM.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven ability to apply CDM 2015 regulations within a major, multidisciplinary railway project environment.
• Significant experience in the railway industry.
• Must hold a NEBOSH Diploma.
• Chartered membership of a professional body is highly desirable.
