About the CollegeNorthumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi-million, state of the art, new college campus in Ashington, due to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college where a purpose-built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing and engineering centre will be located.
Curriculum spans technical, vocational further and higher education and includes large apprenticeship provision and dedicated centres for young people with SEND.
The College has two main campuses in Ashington, and Ponteland, and as part of the college group Education Partnership Northeast, it also has a significant number of satellite delivery centres across the region
Served by easy road links, and the new train station in Ashington, when Northumberland College opens its new Department for Education backed campus at Wansbeck Business Park, the college will boast a national trailblazer both in architectural design and operation. This major £52 million+ investment comes on top of the College recently driving £14million into new facilities and resources at its existing sites.

The successful candidate will support the catering team to deliver a high quality of service to students and staff in our state of the art new build campus on the Wansbeck Business Park. We are looking for staff that are flexible, have a cheerful and friendly disposition, be of smart appearance. Candidates should be willing to work flexibly and undertake any training as required and to uphold British Values, the college values and responsibilities with regard to equality and diversity.
About the RoleEPNE and are looking to appoint an enthusiastic catering assistant to work predominantly 10am-2.00pm at the Campus Café (Monday -Friday). We are looking for staff that are flexible, have previous experience of working in a catering / Café environment within the education sector and cash handling experience would be an advantage.

- To work as catering assistant preparing and serving a range of hot and cold food to staff and students
- Assist with the preparation of orders, receipt of orders and safe storage after delivery.
- Assist with Buffets for internal hospitalities.
- Comply with health and safety and hygiene procedures and regulations relevant to their working areas.
- Day to day maintenance tasks such as Table clearance, emptying litter bins, sweeping floors, dishwashing, general cleaning
- Food safety L2
- Ability to work without direct supervision
