Description

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at Dean's Scarborough Garden Centre. Your goal will be to provide a warm welcome to all our Blooms restaurant visitors and do everything you can to make their trip a memorable one. You will be responsible for ensuring customers are served quickly and accurately, operating the tills, ensuring the restaurant area is impeccably clean and supporting the team with whatever is needed to help create a great working environment.

This role is working an average of 14.5 hours per week:

Week 1:

Thursday 11:00am-4:00pm

Friday 12:00pm-4:00pm

Week 2:

Friday 11:00am-4:00pm

Saturday 11:00-4:00pm

Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm

This is a very demanding role so you must be comfortable working fast and being on your feet a lot of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Catering Assistant, your role includes but is not limited to these duties:

  • Welcoming and seating customers
  • Taking customer orders
  • Assist with menu and beverage recommendations
  • Preparing and serving beverage and food orders
  • Setting tables
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Cleaning tables and removing used cutlery
  • Communicating effectively with the kitchen and staff members
  • Reporting to shifts on time in impeccable uniform.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

Ideally, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in a catering environment - (preferable but not mandatory).
  • Friendly and sociable.
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Is flexible to work additional shifts and weekends if required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of restaurant procedures
