Catering Assistant

Main duties of the job

As a Catering Assistant you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries. You will collaborate with dietitians and help with deliveries, gaining valuable experience in a calm and productive setting.

Job responsibilities

• Assisting catering staff with the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Serving food and beverages to service users, staff and visitors.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with policies.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

Requirements

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Location

Lakefield's Neurological Centre, Lambourne Road, Chigwell, IG7 6HH - a 22 bed specialist 24 hour nursing and therapy service for complex neurological conditions.
