Job Description

Our client a well known Insurance Company are actively looking to hire 6 Category Managers, with either Professional Services or IT Category experience.

Hybrid Working: Various Offices available (London, Bristol, York or Norwich) - 2 Days a Week onsite

Competitive Rates (InsideIR35).

Duration: 12 Months

Start Date: End of May/Early June 2025

Senior Category Manager (multiple vacancies available)

  • High volume, multiple tenders
  • Professional Services Category (primary consulting £120m spend)
  • Need to move quickly in this category, request from business to selection / onboarding is quick
  • Dont really need to manage suppliers, more about managing multiple tenders , contract negotiation, selection etc
  • FCA useful
  • Non-IT Categories fine if not Consulting
  • Good work ethic , not always working to rule

Senior Category Managers (1 Vacancy Available)

  • Managing complex negotiations of outsourcing activity
  • Much more complex and in depth
  • Category is all non-IT - Customer Claims, Offshoring etc, more customer facing role.
  • Will need strong outsourcing experience
  • Strong stakeholder management / influencing

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Commercial and stakeholder management skills and proven track record of building strong internal business relationships
  • Experience and a proven track record of delivering Commercial, SRM, or Category Management within a demanding, fast evolving environment
  • Leading and managing sourcing processes
  • Developing and negotiating agreements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent preferable
  • CIPS qualification desirable
  • Working ideally within the Financial Services or Insurance related Environment
  • Knowledge of People & Professional Services OR IT Vendors/Suppliers (ALL Areas Required across Suppliers)
