Category Manager

We are now looking for a Category Manager supporting the Off Trade based in Burton On Trent on a hybrid basis.

To convert the purchase intent of MCBC Brands, developed by the Brand teams, into actual purchases at the right value by developing a detailed understanding of customers, the role of the category to the customer, and by developing optimal range & space recommendations to maximize category value & MCBC brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the thinking with the customer. Support category management with approximately 80% external focus.
• Liaise with key stakeholders including BUCs / CDMs.
• Produce customer/channel reports to inform MFST on category dynamics, including seasonal events.
• Drive customer engagement for the category through strong networking and clear action plans.
• Identify category opportunities and vulnerabilities based on customer data analytics and insights.
• Deliver benchmark data for outlets in their channel/customer against ambitions (range/space/ROS, etc.).
• Manage key category projects aligned with MCBC strategic goals (e.g., Range Reviews, Governance).
• Work as a shopper/guest expert within the customer environment, collaborating with CMM to develop compelling activation plans for TTL. Provide IBP account/sub-channel inputs where applicable.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in category management, including developing category arguments and delivering to customer decision-makers.
• Proven ability to develop effective relationships with customer decision-makers and contribute to profitable joint business plans.
