Job Description

Our client a well known brand and company are looking to hire a Category Manager for a short period to manager multiple vendors/suppliers within the Professional/Indirect Services sector.

Location: London OR Hampshire

Duration: Initial 3 months - Potential Temp to Perm for the right candidate

Date Rate: Negotiable Depending on Experience - Inside IR35 via an Umbrella Company

Working Week: 1 Day a Week on site - Either London or Hampshire Office

Job Duties:

  • Build and manage a long-term category strategy for best GNFR spend value, that delivers "Powered by the Companies" strategic priorities whilst balancing sustainability, risk, quality, operational, technical, legal & financial requirements, and objectives.
  • Maintain an in-depth market knowledge to ensure best value and practices are maintained for a GNFR category portfolio (incl., Banking, Customer Payments, Cash in transit, Leasing, Insurance, etc) under management of approx. £100m+ spend and 500+ suppliers
  • Work collaboratively & influence key Client & Banner stakeholders to optimise the Group Category Strategy
  • Deliver significant and sustainable value optimising the cost base from the category management on all categories assigned
  • Embed strategic supplier relationship management and supplier performance management across the functions to drive operational continuity
  • Engage/Influence colleagues/stakeholders to instil a strategic procurement culture, embed best practices and promote a positive working atmosphere.

Experience Required:

  • Experience operating in a global/multi-cultural/Matrix organisation
  • Experience category manager in indirect procurement - Banks/Legal Services/Financial Services
  • Manage Indirect spend of ~£75m, 500+ suppliers
  • Category transformation/performance management
  • End-to-end strategic sourcing/Strategic Supplier Relationship Management
  • Source-to-Pay (S2P) process & technology experience (eg Coupa, Ariba)
  • FP&A processes/Financial business case construction (ROI, TCO )
  • Procurement excellence/Sustainability/Risk management & business continuity
  • Team management, engagement & development
  • Experience influencing at functional/Board level
  • Strong interpersonal, communications & leadership skills
  • Ability to Speak French would be advantageous
