About the Role

Casual Sport Warden (Job Number: )

Type: Casual / Atypical (Fees)

Typical/Contracted Hours: 6 hours per shift

Closing Date: Ongoing

The role has been created to enable first year students to take part in pre season training as part of one of Team Durham's performance teams in a safe and inclusive environment.

Post Holder Responsibilities: act as first responders / single point of contact for a Durham University performance team between the hours of 5pm to 9am each day.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain reasonable standards of behaviour while the team is within their allocated accommodation, ensuring that this behaviour is at all times inclusive and respectful of all individuals.
  • Carry out a role call as teams return from training, again in the evening and in the morning prior to departing for training and competition.
  • Liaise with Porters and Duty Officers within the allocated accommodation in the first instance should an incident arise.
  • Liaise with the on call member of Team Durham staff the following morning should an incident arise.
  • Live in the same accommodation as their allocated team.
  • Attend online and face to face training / induction prior to undertaking the role.
  • Read and sign the Team Durham Code of Conduct prior to undertaking the role.
Person Specification
  • Ideally hold a position of responsibility within the club.
  • Ideally be a third year student.
  • Show maturity and leadership within the club.
  • No requirement to be a member of the performance programme.
  • Have the ability to communicate with large groups of people.
  • Have an understanding of Team Durham sport and, in particular, performance sport outside of their own sport.
