REED Business Support in Bath is delighted to be partnering up with a local business in their search for a Caretaker.
This is a permanent role
Salary £28,153 - £29, 542 + benefits
37 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm
Flexible working arrangements available Part-time hours and alternative working patterns will be considered for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone that wants to make a difference every day. You will take pride in creating safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environments. You will work closely with other teams to help maintain buildings and grounds to the highest standards.
Typical duties include:
- Ensure the security, safety, and day-to-day operation of buildings and grounds
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and general DIY tasks, including basic plumbing, decorating and minor building repairs
- Respond promptly and effectively to reactive maintenance issues
- Complete regular health and safety inspections and compliance checks
- Manage and monitor contractors on site, ensuring adherence to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Support Trust-wide estate projects, planned maintenance programmes, and site improvement works
- Provide cover and assistance across other Trust schools when required
- Make effective use of school holiday periods to complete larger maintenance and refurbishment projects
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in caretaking, facilities management, maintenance, or a similar role
- Possesses good practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Understands health and safety requirements and building compliance standards
- Can effectively prioritise a varied workload and work independently
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Remains calm, professional, and solution-focused under pressure
- Is reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential matters with discretion
