Catch22 Include schools help vulnerable young people with challenging behaviours to realise their full potential.With extensive experience of delivering services to children and young people who have experienced difficulties in mainstream schools and whose education has irretrievably broken down, we support learners to achieve academic and vocational targets and progress into education, training and employment.

TheCatch22 Include provides a safe and nurturing environment for students who have been unable to sustain a place in mainstream education. We prioritise academic achievement, and we introduce behaviour interventions and therapeutic support where necessary. This enables students to re-integrate at the same key stage as their peers, and supports them to access future opportunities in employment and further education.

Job Description

We are looking for a Caretaker who will be responsible for maintaining the school premises in Newport to ensure that they provide a safe and secure environment for everybody within the school. In addition, the premises should provide an environment, which actively supports the process of learning.

You'll be responsible for setting the priorities for maintenance and repair, ensuring that essential services including IT, gas, electricity & water are maintained, and liaising with suppliers if there are outages or when maintenance is required. You'll undertake general repairs and maintenance around the site, inside and out, to ensure a safe environment is maintained, and maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and supplies re-ordering when needed via the School Administration Manager.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Has proven experience of working within the area of premises/site.
• Experience of dealing with external contractors.
• Has demonstrated the ability to take the initiative, work independently and be able to accept responsibility.
• Ability and willingness to engage in teamwork with multi-agency staff at all levels
• Ability to organise time and work routines effectively to an agreed action plan in order to meet outputs and targets.

Additional Information

Salary: £26,651 - 36,400 per year, pro rata
Hours of work:Parttime, 30 hours per week, 39 weeks
Contract: Permanent
