Care Navigator / Medical Receptionist

Your role is to assist in the smooth running of the practice by supporting patients, GPs and other practice staff, ensuring we meet both patient expectations and our high standards of service.
We will be looking for:

Main duties of the jobMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Greeting our patients when they arrive and assisting with enquiries and check ins
Dealing with our telephone lines to assist our patients with queries and appointment bookings
Managing emails and website enquiries
Processing prescription requests
Daily administrative tasks

We are currently looking for a friendly, professional and organised parttime Care Navigator to join our excellent team at Overton Park Surgery. This is a great opportunity for somebody with a passion for customer/patient care, who thrives in a vibrant environment.
Job responsibilitiesTo be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate a full awareness of the role of a GP receptionist and have excellent people skills.
The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach to work.
The position is predominantly computer based.
Candidates applying need to have experience of and be confident handling busy customer-facing position, be self-motivated and happy to work independently.
Training will be provided which includes ongoing regular training.
Due to the nature of the role, appointment is dependent on the results of an enhanced DBS check.
Qualifications- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Effective time management (planning & organising)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Polite and confident
- Ability to work under pressure
- Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations
- Grades C / 4 or above in English and Maths
- AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
- NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Experience of admin duties
- Flexibility to provide shift cover for colleagues
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Experience of working in a health care setting
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£12.98 an hour
Increases to £13.43 on completion of probation.
