Care Assistant (Day Duty)

Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group is looking for a Care Assistant to join our team in Muirfield, Gullane.

Main Responsibilities

• Promote the highest standards of care within the nursing home
• Uphold residents' rights to privacy, dignity, and choice
• Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors
• Adhere to the SSSC Code of Conduct
• Set a good example regarding dress, manner, hygiene, and behaviour
• Report any injuries, disease or dangerous practice to relevant personnel
• Maintain accurate and legally compliant records

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum of one year's care experience in a care home, hospital or community setting; student nurses are welcome
• Experience working with elderly people and knowledge of dementia is desirable
• Time management and prioritisation skills for self and team
• Problem solving ability within a nursing home setting
• Strong oral and written communication skills, especially for report writing
• Ability to handle a variety of resident related issues effectively
• For Principal Carer posts, an SVQ Level 3 and team leadership experience are essential
