Highwood Care Home is a purpose-built facility nestled in the beautiful and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury home provides Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for up to 67 residents, offering a warm, supportive environment where every resident is treated with dignity and respect.

We are now looking for kind, reliable Care Assistants to join our supportive team. Whether you have previous care experience or are looking for a meaningful new career path, this is a chance to make a real difference every day. Opportunities are available across dayshift, nightshift, full-time, part-time, and bank roles.

What We Offer

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Flexible hours including full-time, part-time, and bank opportunities

  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Your RoleAs a Care Assistant, you will help residents with their daily routines - getting dressed, staying active, enjoying meals - while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing. You will support their care plans, communicate any changes in health, and bring warmth and companionship to every shift. You will also play a key part in creating a welcoming environment and working collaboratively with colleagues.

What We're Looking ForWe are looking for kind, compassionate, and motivated individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of our residents. You don't need prior experience in care - as long as you are eager to learn, have a caring attitude, and are willing to complete training, we'd love to hear from you. Ideally, you will have:

  • A friendly, approachable personality and a genuine desire to help others
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Reliability and a respectful, person-centred approach to care
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred, but not essential)
