Job Description

We are currently seeking a Cardiothoracic ICU Nurse for our client hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialised intensive care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
  • Monitor invasive haemodynamic parameters.
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and ECG changes.
  • Manage chest drains, temporary pacemakers, and arterial lines.
  • Administer cardiac medications, inotropes, and vasoactive infusions.
  • Care for ventilated cardiac patients and high dependency patients.
  • Detect and respond to cardiac emergencies and post operative complications.
  • Assist in rapid recovery and rehabilitation planning.
  • Maintain accurate ICU and cardiac monitoring documentation.
  • Work closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, and ICU consultants.
Requirements
  • NMBI registration or eligibility.
  • BSc Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years ICU/Critical Care experience.
  • Cardiothoracic ICU or Cardiac ICU experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, post cardiac surgery care.
  • Invasive lines and haemodynamic monitoring.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Knowledge of cardiac emergencies and advanced critical care procedures.
  • Strong decision making and prioritisation abilities.
