As a Captain, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, satisfaction, and enjoyment of our passengers while navigating some of the most iconic waterways in the world. Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of passengers and crew by adhering to company standards and SMS regulations.
  • Navigate large passenger vessels on the River Thames in compliance with PLA by-laws and company protocols.
  • Conduct safety briefings, vessel checks, and onboard training for crew members.
  • Oversee the safe mooring, embarking, and disembarking of passengers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily vessel logs and safety equipment checks.
  • Promote onboard sales and enhance the customer experience with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Act as an ambassador for our RESPECT values, fostering teamwork and a positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Essential Certifications:
    • SCTW95 Seaman Certificate
    • BML (Boat Master's Licence) Tier 1 & 2
    • LKE (Local Knowledge Endorsement)
    • RYA PB2 (Power Boat Level 2)
    • Large Passenger Vessel endorsement (LPV)
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience operating large passenger vessels.
    • Knowledge of vessel maintenance and engineering.
    • Ability to provide Thames commentary between Westminster and Greenwich.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Calm under pressure with a problem solving mindset.
    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Day to Day
  • Conducting pre service safety briefings and vessel checks.
  • Navigating the River Thames while ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
  • Leading and mentoring your crew to deliver exceptional service.
  • Monitoring and maintaining vessel cleanliness, fuel levels, and safety equipment.
  • Engaging with passengers, providing commentary, and promoting onboard products.
  • Reporting maintenance needs or incidents in line with company procedures.
