Capital Engineering Project Manager

Closing date: 04 January 2026

Location: North Devon District Hospital, North Devon.

We are recruiting a Capital Engineering Projects Manager to work with the Deputy Head of Capital Projects, leading the feasibility, design, construction and project management of all capital projects across northern sites. The postholder will manage external consultants and contractors, ensuring all work is reviewed against formal briefings and engineering input is delivered for major Trust redevelopment works and backlog requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional engineering advice and information to the Deputy Head of Capital Projects.
  • Ensure budgetary management is effective for construction and infrastructure works.
  • Act as authorised manager for Pressure, Piped Medical Gases, Electrical High/Low voltage systems.
  • Advise and ensure compliance with HTMs, HBNs, Building Regulation, CDM, DDA, Privacy and Dignity and other statutory requirements.
  • Review utility consumption at all stages of planning and installation.
  • Participate in the Estates on call rota and support the wider senior management team.
Qualifications
  • Industry experience installing/managing complex engineering schemes.
  • Knowledge of HTMs, HBNs, Building Regulations, CDM, DDA, Environmental Health and other relevant statutory guidance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with weekends and out of hours by exception.
