Job Description
Candidate Manager - University Engagement & Strategy

As a Candidate Manager at Reed Education, you will play a pivotal role in building relationships with universities, SCITT providers, and FE colleges to develop a pipeline of trainee teachers, while optimizing job board strategies and driving international recruitment and referral programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of UK universities offering PGCE and QTS courses.
  • Identify and establish relationships with key university contacts, including course leaders and career services.
  • Create initiatives to access student and trainee teacher networks, including on campus events and virtual engagement.
  • Organise and attend university career fairs and recruitment events.
  • Launch and manage a Candidate Ambassador Program to promote Reed Education within university communities.
  • Design innovative service offerings tailored to university partnerships to increase candidate acquisition.
  • Extend outreach to universities in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and international locations.
  • Build and maintain a database of SCITT providers and develop collaborative relationships to access trainee teacher talent pools.
  • Establish connections with FE colleges and training providers specialising in Teaching Assistants, SEND Support Workers, Nursery, and Early Years Practitioners.
  • Maintain up to date databases of institutions and candidate pipelines.
  • Maximise ROI from job boards (Reed.co.uk, Indeed, CV Library) by developing, assessing, and evolving strategic approaches.
  • Research and evaluate new job boards targeting academic and non academic candidates.
  • Develop best practices for Boolean searches and job advert optimisation across the Reed Education network.
  • Establish best practices for the UK Resourcer team in candidate searching, Boolean techniques, advert writing, and engagement strategies.
  • Train and guide local management to ensure consistent, high quality candidate sourcing.
  • Assess feasibility of recruiting overseas teachers for UK schools, exploring partnerships and sourcing channels in international markets.
  • Enhance the candidate referral program across the Reed Education network.
  • Collaborate with screening and senior leadership to streamline compliance and onboarding processes.
Person Specification
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in recruitment strategies, sourcing techniques, and candidate engagement.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to analyse data and optimise sourcing channels for maximum ROI.
  • Knowledge of the education sector and teacher training pathways (highly desirable).

Salary range

£26,000-£28,000
