Binnies are looking to recruit a CAD/BIM Manager who will undertake the management, development and resourcing for a high performing existing UK CAD function. The individual will be required to undertake the allocation of CAD/modelling project, with a "hands on "lead capacity and be accountable for driving continuity and efficiency through our 3D BAU approach.

The implementation of industry-leading building information management (BIM) is central to Binnies efficient project execution and growth strategy.
About the Role
The Binnies CAD Manager role is an exciting and unique opportunity to join and lead the growing CAD, where a pragmatic approach will be required with great interpersonal skills. It will involve the training of staff and the provision of practical support to the project teams in the use and application of 3D Modelling software and associated tools. The key responsibilities for the role are as follows:
- Manage the existing UK CAD function and project activities/resources.
- Have a working relationship with counterparts in other Binnies regions and their CAD resource (i.e. India, Australia, Singapore, HK)
- Work with the Head of Digital Engineering where appropriate on relevant initiatives.
- Lead and develop the on-going 3D BAU approach within Binnies.
- Manage the day-to-day 3D Modelling activities in support of the current Binnies BIM Strategy and Implementation Plan.
- Lead the review and modification of the Binnies BIM modelling standards and procedures to ensure consistent processes are applied throughout the UK region and potentially to our external clients and the supply-chain.
- Work closely with the Head of Digital Engineering on the continued development of Binnies Digital Object Library and its implementation and use.
- Lead and provide training in 3D modelling to project design and construction teams including (but not limited to);
- 3D modelling principles and processes
- 3D modelling procedures and techniques
- 3D modelling tools & templates
- Revit / Civil3D / NavisWorks training
- Provide ad-hoc support to project teams as required.
- Participate in the future development of 3D modelling within Binnies
- Ensure BIM standards, methods and discipline are followed and aligned to our QA processes and procedures
- Apply advanced, innovative technical solutions and processes
- Ensure all UK CAD/BIM Team members are catered for in terms of training and development needs.
All new projects are following the Binnies BIM process, namely;
- Utilise the ProjectWise common data environment (CDE), fully configured to BS EN ISO 19650 processes and principles to manage and deliver our information.
- Work and deliver in line with BS EN ISO 19650 processes and principles
- 3D integrated engineering design & modelling where pragmatic, building upon our existing 3D modelling capabilities using Revit, Civil3D and InfraWorks as well as all our supporting platforms.
- Identify and introduce wider BIM processes and technologies where appropriate.

Essential Requirements
The role is suitable for an experienced professional with sound engineering background (relevant degree or qualification) who can demonstrate knowledge and use of Autodesk £D Modelling Tools. The individual must have experience of working on BIM projects, alongside an appreciation of the BIM process and BS EN ISO 19650 suite.
You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- 3D modelling skills, qualifications and experience
- People management skills.
- Coaching, training and development skills
- Demonstrate a high level of interest in business process improvement of 3D modelling activities, implementation and methodologies
- Broad experience in the use and application of common engineering software and IT
- Exemplary team motivation skills
- Working and theoretical understanding of 3D modelling Standards and QA processes
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in teaching/coaching/training
- Experience in the use of ProjectWise
- Evidence of some form of formal BIM training/education
