C# Developer - (Operational Technology)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Location: North Wales (with occasional international travel)

Are you a Junior C# Developer or Graduate Software Engineer looking to kick-start your career in automation, Industry 4.0, and smart-factory technology?
This is an opportunity to join a global engineering organisation investing heavily in digital transformation, automation, and advanced OT systems.

We're open to graduates and developers with around 1 year of experience, as long as you have solid C# skills. Everything else can be taught - full training will be provided across automation tech, industrial systems, SCADA, robotics, and more.

The Role

As a Junior OT Applications Engineer, you'll contribute to designing and developing software used across automated production lines and digital manufacturing environments in both UK and international sites.

You'll get exposure to cutting-edge technology, including SCADA systems, industrial robotics, Cobots, PLC integrations, MES platforms, and smart-factory data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop OT applications using C# and web-based languages.
  • Configure and deploy SCADA, HMI, and MES systems (full training provided).
  • Support automation logic creation for PLCs and industrial controllers (training provided).
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and validation of automation software.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing OT applications.
  • Help integrate OT systems with IT platforms for analytics and reporting.
  • Maintain documentation for systems and integrations.

About You

We welcome graduates and junior developers with strong C# skills.

You'll need:

  • Experience with C# (academic, personal projects, or commercial).
  • A degree in Computer Science or similar (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals and databases.
  • Problem-solving ability, eagerness to learn, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Exposure to automation, OT, or industrial systems - not required, full training provided.
