Our Supply Chain team are looking for the right teammate to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. As a Buyer, you will play a key role in coordinating purchasing activities for our Athenry site, working closely with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.

Where you come in
  • You will generate, adjust and expedite purchase orders based on MRP demands and/or Min/Max requirements.
  • You will generate Supplier Forecasts and coordinate general purchasing activities for Dexcom for Direct and Indirect materials within their portfolio.
  • You will establish appropriate inventory strategies for their portfolio.
  • You will provide feedback on BOM parts/commodities numbers in the ERP.
  • You will support Supplier Relationship Management strategies.
  • You will manage Inventory levels of their portfolio in line with business goals.
  • You will suggest cost saving proposals.
  • You will interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
  • You will minimise Excess and Obsolescence Inventory.
  • You will support the resolution of purchased price variances, AP discrepancies, and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions within stated time frames.
  • You will review and report supplier delivery performance.
  • You will participate in business reviews with suppliers.
  • You will monitor on time delivery and initiatives corrective action.
  • You will manage the interaction with suppliers associated with Engineering Change Orders.
  • You will comply with US FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, company quality system, policies, procedures.
  • You will assist in local sourcing initiatives in collaboration with Corporate Procurement.
What makes you successful
  • You have experience of using ERP systems. Oracle desired but not mandatory.
  • You have a high level of understanding in Planning, MRP and MPS as it relates to Purchasing.
  • You have experience within the Medical Device or similar industry.
  • You understand configuration management as it relates to item master and bill of materials.
  • You proactively develop and execute ideas for improvements.
  • You are self-motivated, with excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience and Education Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience.
