Your Role!We are looking for a motivated Business Support Officer to join our centralised Business Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality administrative support and contributing to the delivery of services across the organisation.
The hours of work are Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4.45pm.
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide an efficient and effective administrative support, while delivering excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and updating management information systems to support with the processing of purchase orders, invoices and working to strict deadlines to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner.
- Producing reports and statistical information to support with performance management.
- Responding to telephone, email and written enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Liaising with managers, colleagues, external organisations and members of the public.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and adapting to new processes and systems.

- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work methodically, organised and able to prioritise their workload and meet multiple deadlines.
- Customer focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilient, adaptable and has a positive attitude with the ability to contribute constructive ideas to the team to support continuous improvement.
- A strong team player who can build effective working relationships across all services.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook and other ICT packages as required.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The post holder will support the development of a positive organisational culture that is outward looking, evidence based, and customer focused.
You will adhere to the Council's Expected Behavioural Standards ensuring that a high standard of customer care is maintained and dealt with in a courteous manner.
