Tower Hamlets Council is seeking to recruit a Business Support Officer on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This is a fulltime position and will be part of the centralised Business Support Hub.

You will play a key role to achieve greater efficiencies in the way we serve the residents of our borough. This post will be based within the Adults Social Care Business Support Service covering Localities.

As a member of our centralised service model, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering excellent support services across the various services in Adults Social Care. We are looking for adaptable, flexible, and ICT-literate individuals who can help us seek digital solutions and become a more efficient, agile workforce.

In our Business Support Hub, we value a people-centred approach. You'll need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing. Being proactive and managing expectations internally and with stakeholders is key.

We are seeking candidates with previous public sector experience and strong, transferable skills in Business Support/Administration. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting services with Business Support tasks.
  • Supporting Safeguarding Meetings.
  • Monitoring Adults Social Care workflow.
Requirements

You will be required to demonstrate transferrable skills as outlined in the attached person specification.

  • You must be proficient in the use of specific IT databases and all Microsoft office applications.
  • Must demonstrate extensive experience of a strong administrative background and detailed knowledge of office procedures.
  • Demonstrable evidence to create and sustain positive working relationships with both internal & external stakeholders that generate confidence, respect, credibility and trust
  • Problem solving skills and lateral thinking to develop creative and innovative solutions
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills to engage a range of stakeholders and able to articulate discussions in a concise manner.
  • You must be flexible, able to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines in delivering a high-quality service.
