Job Description

You will provide high-quality administrative, operational and programme support to the Research Capacity Development function of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) London infrastructure. The role contributes to the delivery of training, career development and research capacity-building initiatives across health, public health and social care, supporting the development of a diverse and sustainable research workforce.

You will manage and coordinate the administration a range of career development activities, and programmes delivered through the Research Capacity Development (RCD) workstream of the NIHR ARC London.

You will support the development, delivery and evaluation of RCD activities, including our NIHR pre-doctoral, doctoral and post doctoral research awards, leadership programmes, and inclusive researcher networks. You will contribute to expanding and diversifying research capacity across applied health, public health, and social care.

You will also support the strategic development, promotion and smooth delivery of RCD initiatives, ensuring alignment with NIHR priorities and widening participation across underrepresented professional groups.

You will have an honours degree level or equivalent. You will have knowledge and experience of working in Higher Education research support services, including supporting NIHR ARC Research Capacity Development administration and delivery as well as associated finance liaison and record keeping. You'll bring strong administrative experience, excellent attention to detail and confidence working with complex information. You'll be highly proficient in Microsoft applications and experienced in using a range of information and communications technology (ICT); able to demonstrate high level of proficiency in Qualtrics, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and complex databases and MS Teams and Zoom large audience platforms. You'll communicate clearly, build positive working relationships, and thrive in a role where accuracy, organisation and good judgement are essential. With a proactive approach, you'll enjoy improving processes, supporting students and staff, and contributing to the smooth running of the NIHR ARC RCD Function.

This is a part time (29.60 hours per week), fixed term position available until 31 March 2031 with a starting salary of £27,205.60per annum (80% pro rata to £34,007 per annum).
