Build New Categories at Amazon India
We're looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to join our new team at Amazon India. Started in early 2024, we focus on one clear goal - bringing popular offline product categories to Amazon's online marketplace.
What you will do here:
• Find and grow new sub-categories that are successful offline but not yet big on Amazon
• Work with sellers to bring their businesses online
• Partner with Amazon's category teams to co-create growth strategies
• Lead and mentor a growing and high performing sales team
• Solve real business problems as we expand into new areas
What you need to succeed:
• Strong business development or sales experience
• Good at analyzing markets and spotting opportunities
• Ability to work well with different teams and influence policy on behalf of your sellers
• Can make decisions when things aren't clear
• Leadership experience or ready to lead a team

Key job responsibilities
• Identify and develop high-potential offline product categories for Amazon's marketplace
• Build and lead an 8-10 member seller acquisition team
• Develop and execute category growth strategies with internal teams
• Drive seller onboarding and success metrics
• Implement process improvements for seller experience
• Manage strategic initiatives and escalations
• Reduce operational defects in category-specific execution
• Create and maintain seller acquisition pipeline using CRM tools
• Develop innovative solutions to enhance customer and seller experience
- 3+ years of sales experience
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience
- Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
- Experience closing sales and generating revenue
- Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)
- Track record of C-level executive engagement
- Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
