Job Description

My client is looking for a Business Development Director to head up a team in Dublin. This role reports to the Vertical Sales Lead and sits within a high-performing Insurance team across the UK and Ireland. The organisation has an established reputation and client base in the sector, with a strong ambition to expand its footprint in the General Insurance market.

We are seeking a Business Development Director to drive new business sales and revenue across the Insurance sector. The role focuses on positioning a broad portfolio of IT services and IP-led solutions, including IT transformation, digital, BPO, cyber, and AI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain senior (CxO-level) relationships across target accounts
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for the Insurance market
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including underpenetrated areas
  • Create compelling propositions and business cases aligned to client needs
  • Manage pipeline, reporting, and bid governance processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams (solutions, pre-sales, marketing, legal) to win deals
  • Support RFP responses and market positioning
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and provide market insight

Candidate Profile Essential
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets
  • Strong knowledge of the General Insurance market in the UK & Ireland
  • Understanding of insurance operations and technology, including AI trends
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams
  • Strong commercial awareness in IT services sales
  • Ability to build relationships at CxO level
  • Established network within the Insurance sector
  • Self-starter able to navigate complex organisations
Desirable
  • Knowledge of insurance regulation
  • Understanding of AI's impact on the industry
