We are seeking an enthusiastic Building Operating Engineer at our 148-room boutique property in the heart of Culver City. This key role is responsible for hotel security and the maintenance of front of house and back of house areas including guestrooms, laundry, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role is primarily overnight.

The hourly rate for this position is $41.00.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Security patrols
• De-escalation and security response
• Navigate central systems (HVAC, Lighting, Plumbing, Fire Alarm)
• Guestroom Preventative Maintenance
• Respond to guest calls and repair in-room issues in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
• Drywall repair and painting; tile/grout repair
• Fire system monitoring and response
• Meter readings (gas, water, electricity, irrigation)

• A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is required, hotel experience preferred.
• Trade School experience is a plus
• Familiar with stairwell riser operation (pressurized)
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. This role is primarily overnight.
• Subject Matter Expert or Certified in one of the following:
  • Mechanical
  • Woodworking
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • HVAC
  • Gas
  • Painting
  • Pool Operator
