Building Automation Engineer

Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer is required to join an industry leader in Union City, CA.

The successful Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer will translate HVAC and control requirements into detailed technical documentation that supports field installation and procurement.

• Develop detailed BAS design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and controls drawings.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, HVAC sequences, and control requirements.
• Utilize design and documentation tools such as Visio, Bluebeam, Niagara N4, Distech GFX, and Distech Designer.
• Create and maintain accurate controls design packages to support procurement and field installation.
• Translate design intent into clear, professional graphical representations and system documentation.
• Support project managers by coordinating design activities and responding to technical questions.
• Address design-related issues during construction and commissioning phases as needed.
• Participate in client meetings to review design concepts and provide technical explanations.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency with Visio, Niagara N4, Distech GFX, Distech Designer, and Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of BAS platforms and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Niagara Framework.
• Experience creating controls drawings, BOMs, and technical design documentation.
• Can live anywhere in the US, preferably in CA.
