Build Over Approvals Lead

Role Description

Developer Services is responsible for liaising with private developers and household customers in relation to the provision of new water and wastewater services. On an annual basis, NI Water receives c.360 applications requests to build over or re-align existing sewers. NI Water also has an extensive list of historic un-adopted sites older than five years.

Reporting to the Adoptions Manager, the Wastewater Approvals Lead will apply a customer centric ethos in leading a team that are responsible for the timely processing of legislative agreements relating to sewer build-overs and re-alignments whilst working towards the adoption of un-adopted historic sites.

The Build Over Approvals Lead will be responsible for ensuring adherence to a number of internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs) associated with the approval and completion of build overs and re-alignments constructed by Developers and 3rd parties.

As well as responsibility for the BAU performance of Build Over / Re-alignment Team, the post holder will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the business assisting to develop new processes to improve customer satisfaction and facilitate the introduction of digital systems.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. Have a 3rd level qualification e.g. HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the water industry. Experience to include knowledge of the design and operation of sewerage systems (including SUDS), wastewater pumping stations and treatment works.

OR


4 years relevant experience in the water industry experience. Experience to include knowledge of the design and operation of sewerage systems (including SUDS), wastewater pumping stations and treatment works.

AND

2. A minimum of two years' experience in managing complex workloads to deliver high quality outputs and ensure adherence to predefined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

3. A minimum of 2 years' experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.

4. IT proficient including the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

In the event of a large number of applications, in the first instance, candidates may be short-listed on the following desirable criteria:

Salary

This Band 5 role offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary scale of £35,354 to £47,138 per annum (pay award pending).

The starting salary will normally be at the first point of the scale. Salaries are reviewed annually effective 1st April.
