Build Engineer

We are working with a large consulting company seeking an experienced Build Engineer in Derby.

Contract Length: 12 months - onsite working
Rate: £26.00 per hour (Inside IR35)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (flexibility required)
Clearance: SC clearance required
Driving Licence is required

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Windows 10/11 build processes and deployment tasks.

• Perform mandated testing procedures, including patch updates and application installations.

• Conduct a pilot deployment to validate the process and ensure compliance with expected requirements and standards.

• Prepare and package devices for shipment and transportation.

• Deploy devices to users according to the deployment schedule.

• Verify correct device operation and obtain on-site representative sign-off.

• Provide Early Life Support (ELS) for one day following each deployment block.

• Collect Legacy devices and return them to the storage area for decommissioning or disposal

• Follow security protocols, including applying tamper-proof and identifier stickers, and updating pre-boot PINs and BitLocker passwords where required.

• Assist users with checklist completion and obtain user sign-off.

• Return Legacy laptops to the storage area for decommissioning or disposal.

• Provide deployment completion updates as agreed during project initiation.

• Complete any rearranged deployments and collect replaced devices.

• Hold Legacy devices for three weeks post-replacement for potential data recovery.

• After the holding period, remove disk drives/memory for secure disposal following approved methods.

Skills required;

• Proven experience as a Build Engineer or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 build processes and deployment tools.

• Familiarity with corporate security and imaging standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and process documentation skills.

• SC clearance (must not hold dual nationality).

• Full UK driving licence required.
