Skills or qualifications required

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, and English (minimum)
• Good understanding of basic maths and scientific principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data
• Practical, hands on approach to work
• Ability to follow procedures and technical instructions
• Have the awareness to work safely on a construction site or production depot
• Willing to be flexible in your working pattern
• Valid UK driving licence essential for site based work

Perform routine laboratory and field testing on materials including soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.

Ensure testing is carried out in line with industry standards and project specifications.

Prepare test samples and carry out testing to assess strength, composition, durability, and performance of materials.

Record, analyse, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and safe operation of testing equipment.

Assist in collecting material samples from construction or quarry sites, often working outdoors.

Support the quality assurance process by identifying non-conforming materials and reporting findings.

Prepare and participate in internal and external audits and inspections from independent accrediting bodies.

Troubleshoot issues with tests, materials, or equipment and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
