Job Description
Brake Press Operator - West Bromwich 
Experienced and reliable Brake Press Operator with over five years of hands on experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment. Skilled in operating CNC and manual press brake machines to produce high-quality sheet metal components in line with technical drawings and strict tolerances. Proven ability to maintain productivity, ensure precision, and uphold health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, programme, and operate CNC and manual press brake machines (e.g. Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar).
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications, and job sheets accurately.
- Perform precision bending, forming, and shaping of sheet metal to tight tolerances.
- Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job, ensuring correct machine setup.
- Carry out in process inspections and quality checks using measuring equipment (verniers, calipers, gauges).
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain machinery, carry out routine checks, and report faults promptly.
- Follow all health & safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Brake Press / Press Brake Operator.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working with various metals (e.g. mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium).
- Knowledge of tooling setups and bend allowances.
- Good problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong awareness of workplace health & safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Able to work under pressure in a busy production environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime when required.
