Board Trustee: Shape Scotland's Safer Communities

Sacro is one of Scotland's leading charities, working to deliver life changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safer communities. For more than 50 years, the organisation has supported people across Scotland through a wide range of services spanning justice, community safety, public protection and social care. At the heart of everything Sacro does are its values of inclusion, respect, kindness, trust, empowerment and a belief in people's ability to make positive change.

As Sacro continues to develop its services and deliver its ambitious strategy, this is an exciting time to join the Board and help shape the organisation's future.

The Board is looking to welcome new Trustees who can bring a range of perspectives, experience and expertise. Applications are welcomed from people with backgrounds across areas such as justice, social enterprise, housing and care, as well as those with knowledge of gender based violence. Experience in areas including communications, PR and media, finance, fundraising and income generation would also be particularly valuable.

The Board meets in person in Edinburgh on a quarterly basis. Trustees are also expected to join one of the Board's committees, which meet remotely each quarter, and to attend a number of key organisational events throughout the year.

The overall time commitment averages around four hours per month, making this an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution alongside other professional and personal commitments.

Previous board experience isn't essential. We're looking for people who share Sacro's values, bring curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.
