Job Summary

The BMS Quotation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely quotations for Building Management System (BMS) projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge of BMS/HVAC controls, the ability to interpret project documentation, and close coordination with sales, engineering, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine scope and system requirements
• Prepare detailed BMS quotations, including material lists, labour estimates, control system architecture, and value added options
• Analyze project requirements and propose appropriate control solutions, field devices, and integration strategies
• Coordinate with sales teams to clarify customer needs and deliver optimized proposals
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of proposed solutions
• Develop cost estimates using standard pricing, vendor quotations, and internal labour/productivity dataPrepare technical submittals, compliance statements, and supporting documentation as required
• Update and maintain pricing tools, templates, and databases
• Ensure all quotations meet company standards for quality, accuracy, and competitiveness
• Provide technical support during customer meetings, presentations, and bid clarifications
• Track quotation progress and support post bid reviews and handover documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of BMS/HVAC control systems, sequences of operation, and field devices
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, control layouts, I/O summaries, and project specifications
• Experience with BMS platforms such as BACnet, Modbus, or Tridium/Niagara
• Strong analytical and estimation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/quotation software
• Effective communication and coordination skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines

Preferred Competencies

• Experience working with contractors, consultants, or system integrators
• Knowledge of integration with HVAC equipment, lighting systems, energy meters, and third party platforms
• Familiarity with sustainability practices, energy efficiency strategies, and smart building technologies
• Experience preparing tender proposals for medium to large scale commercial or industrial projects
