Job Description

Join our dedicated Kinship Assessment Team in Birmingham as a Qualified Social Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting families and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in kinship care. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of potential kinship carers, collaborating with families, and providing ongoing support to help create stable and nurturing environments for children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of kinship placements, including home visits and interviews.
  • Developing and implementing support plans tailored to the needs of children and their families.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Providing training and guidance to kinship carers to enhance their caregiving skills.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and kinship care assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
