We're looking for a Bioresources & Operational Logistics Director - someone who lives our values, leads with heart and vision, and inspires expert teams to shape a more sustainable future.
This is a pivotal role within our Water Recycling Senior Leadership Team. You'll lead the strategy and safe, effective delivery of our sludge treatment, haulage, and recycling operations across the region. With a team of over 400 talented individuals , you'll foster a culture of care, accountability, and curiosity - driving performance that truly makes a difference to our people, communities, and the environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Inspiring a culture of safety and wellbeing - where people feel empowered, supported, and proud of the work they do
- Leading the strategic direction and operations of our sludge treatment centres and logistics services
- Promoting a commercially focused culture across teams and unlocking new opportunities to drive value and efficiency
- Shaping resilient, efficient, and compliant haulage strategies that support our long-term goals
- Driving environmental improvements through innovative, circular approaches to water recycling and resource recovery
- Championing performance improvement - focusing on environmental compliance and delivering on key operational goals
- Developing strong, forward-thinking engaged leaders who foster trust, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Representing Anglian Water with purpose and professionalism in industry forums, partnerships, and regulatory discussions
What you'll bring:
- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex operational regulated environment would be preferable (ideally water, waste, or logistics)
- A track record of inspiring large, diverse teams to perform with care, accountability, and passion with high engagement
- Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and capital delivery experience
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and regulators
- Proven knowledge in sludge treatment and haulage operations, along with process safety and operating licence conditions, would be an advantage
