We are now recruiting for the exciting role of BIM Manager, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.

The BIM Manager will be the focal point of contact for project digital delivery and the coordination of different digital streams, such as BIM, 4D, GIS, IM to drive forward a "design for construction" approach utilising data and construction technology. The role has an overarching understanding of the different interfaces during project delivery across design and construction and will play a pivotal role in enabling their coordination, integration and engagement with the client. The role will be accountable for establishing and maintaining a robust framework of BIM Management processes and procedures to support the repeatable construction of Rolls-Royce SMRs globally. The role will manage a team accountable for the management of BIM, with an opportunity to strongly influence the implementation of best-in-class processes and tools in a complex programme environment.

Key Results & Achievements
  • Manage the BIM team being accountable for the strategy and implementation of BIM across multiple disciplines in both Production and Project orientated environments for the repeatable construction of our Rolls-Royce Power Stations.
  • Manage all BIM documentation (BIM execution plans (BEPs) Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) Asset Information Requirements (AIR) etc) and ensure alignment with client requirements.
  • Oversee model coordination, clash detection, and data validation.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless digital workflows.
  • Collaborate with project teams and engineering disciplines to integrate digital construction solutions into planning, design, construction, handover, commissioning and decommissioning phases, progressively building the lifecycle Digital Twin of the project.
  • Lead the coordination and integration of project specific digital streams including BIM, IM, 4D, 5D, GIS, Geospatial, IoT, Asset data, to empower right first-time project delivery.
  • Lead the development and deployment of digital construction data and Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) to drive forward project certainty, productivity, quality & safety.
  • Provide technical expertise in construction data management, construction technology (such as 4D/5D Information Systems) and act as the focal point for integration of different digital streams.
  • Ensure the integrity, interoperability and integration of construction data and technology to facilitate digital rehearsals, construction digital twin delivery and digital handover.
  • Lead the programme management of the delivery of digital construction solutions focusing on cost, time & quality.
  • Empower a "design for construction" project delivery mindset within Rolls-Royce SMR and foster collaborative project delivery.
  • Provide guidance on model, data and technology delivery, review, coordination, federation and integration to ensure that company and project standards are maintained on all deliverables including as designed, issued for construction and as-built.
  • Liaison with the production and project teams, client and supply chains to review our Information models and make any necessary amendments.
  • Ensuring compliance with BIM standards and (inter)national BIM standards (ISO19650).
  • Provide training and support to Rolls-Royce SMR on digital tools and methodologies.

Key Selection Criteria

BIM Management:
  • Expert in ISO19650, BIM and Digital Technology related processes methods and tools.
  • Experience in construction project delivery and AGILE project management methodologies.
  • Expert in one (or more) of the following: BIM, 4D/5D/6D development, IM or GIS/Geospatial.
  • Strong understanding and experience of the above streams and their interfaces to deliver digital construction solutions on projects.
  • Strong understanding of lifecycle project delivery and how data and digital can empower interfaces across Design, Planning, Engineering, Construction, Project controls & Handover for project delivery.
  • Proficiency in Digital Construction software such as CDEs, lifecycle BIM (4D/5D/6D+), GIS & Geospatial or data management and functional understanding of how they integrate to support project delivery.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of how advanced technologies (AI, Robotics, XR) can enable Digital Construction.
  • Experience in building client relationships and working with clients to deliver key business objectives.

Training & Qualification Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management - Minimum requirement
  • Experience in project management - Minimum requirement
  • Member of Professional Body - Desired
  • Proven experience in a BIM Manager or similar role within construction - Required
  • Strong knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and Bentley ProjectWise or equivalents - Required
  • Excellent understanding of ISO 19650 standards - Required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills - Required
