Billing Operations Manager

Position Summary & Objective This role is ideal for a proactive leader with strong financial acumen who enjoys bringing clarity, consistency, and continuous improvement to complex operational environments. You'll oversee the end-to-end billing and invoicing process, develop a small but mighty high-performing billing team, and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all activities. Minimum KSA's 10+ years of experience in billing, finance operations, or revenue operations Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing complex billing and invoicing processes Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop operational teams in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated success driving process improvements and operational scalability Experience resolving complex or nuanced billing scenarios with sound judgment and attention to detail Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology Excellent communication skills, able to translate complexity into clear outcomes for both internal teams and senior stakeholders High ownership mindset; comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability Experience in payments, fleet, fintech, or regulated environments strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience) What Success Looks Like in 6-12 Months Within the first year, billing operations are stable, predictable, and trusted by customers, resellers, and internal partners. Billing issues and escalations have materially decreased, processes are clearly owned and consistently executed, and the team is confident and operating with clarity. Billing is viewed as a reliable, scalable function that supports growth rather than a point of friction. Job Responsibilities The Billings Operations Manager will: Lead and manage the day to day operations of the billing department, ensuring all invoicing and billing activities are executed accurately and promptly Supervise, mentor, and provide training and guidance to the billing specialists and team members. Collaborate closely with Finance, CS, Commercial, Credit, Account Management and Legal teams to ensure accurate customer data, resolve disputes, and address complex customer billing concerns. Verify the accuracy of billing data, pricing, discounts, and terms against contracts and sales orders, resolving discrepancies before final invoicing. Work with the finance team to ensure timely reconciliation of billing accounts with the general ledger and accounts receivable records. Oversee the preparation, generation, and distribution of all customer invoices, statements, and bills via varying methods.
